So, what's the vibe?

Hello all Lincoln Peeps...

What's the current vibe on the wind project? Seems like it's going to break ground sometime next summer, is that accurate? I have recently moved to the mid-west so I'm a bit out of the loop...

Fill me in with a comment below!

  1. This project will never happen. Friends of Lincoln Lakes can tie this up in court for years. Since the idiot governor of ours has ceded the entire northeastern part of the state to his buddies at First Wind, there are plenty of other places for them to destroy. The Chinese made nacelles and Brazilian made blades (yeah, so much for "American energy independence!)that they ordered for Rollins are sitting in Chester and will be shipped up to poor Oakfield. Meanwhile, they have set their sites on places like Carroll, Lakeville, Staceyville, Benedicta. It is truly tragic to ruin rural Maine for such a scam.

  2. I'm not a resident of Maine, but I have been vacationing in Lincoln since I was a child and now my children vacation there. As much as I hate to say it, I think this would poorly influence tourism in the Lincoln area. Maine has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth, you would think local government would want to keep it that way. Tourists want to enjoy Maine's beauty, particularly the lakes and mountains. If they can't find that beauty in Lincoln, they're going to go somewhere else. I know I will.
